Productions and Operations Management (TQM)- BS Entrep 3A
This will introduce the various elements and relevant concepts in Production and Operations Management. It will also present some of the POM tools that can be applied to a wide variety of situations. This course will provide an integrated framework for understanding the field as a whole. By the end of the course, the student should be able to understand and appreciate POM; know its importance in the success of the business; and learn the major POM concepts, quantitative tools, and techniques that are used in tactical and strategic decisions.
CONVENTION AND MEETING MANAGEMENT
This
course provides an overview of the meetings and convention industry and
the various aspects and skills involved in planning and managing
meetings, conventions, and expositions. Emphasis on types of meetings,
meeting markets, industry suppliers, budget and program planning, site
selection and contract negotiations, registration and housing , food and
beverage requirements, function and meeting room set up, and
audiovisual requirements. Guest speakers and internet research will be
used.
FINANCIAL MANAGEMENT
This course introduces the students an overview of the different areas of financial management and relates them to basic accounting concepts and practices. This course will provide the students a thorough understanding of financial statement analysis, capital structure, leverage and interest rates on borrowings, and working capital management. This course involves students in decision-making utilizing financial resources available to the firm from the perspective of the manager, based on the financial position and also financial operation, capital structure and leverage, and working capital of the business. |
HUMAN BEHAVIOR IN ORGANIZATION - BSE 2A
The course introduces the students to the factors affecting the behavior of individuals and groups in organization focusing on the specific factors that tend to explain behavior of individuals, groups, and organizations. Various theories and models of organizational behavior, work group behavior, motivation in life and work, and human relations among others are discussed and related to organizational practices and phenomena.
ENTREPRENEURIAL MARKETING STRATEGIES - 3A
This course is about the marketing challenges in an entrepreneurial firm. Entrepreneurship is the discovery, enactment and pursuit of new business opportunities. Successful execution of an entrepreneurial idea requires a sound marketing plan. In this course, students will be able to investigate how marketing tools can enable entrepreneurs to realize the full potential of their ideas.
Entrepreneurial Behavior and Mindset - BSE 1A
This course introduces the fundamentals of entrepreneurship that deals with the role of entrepreneurship in economic development. Topics on Filipino entrepreneurial economy, entrepreneurial motivation, government assistance and programs for entrepreneurs, development and growth theories and applications are included. Relevant topic such as business concepts and models, social responsibility, franchising as well as e-commerce in the Philippine setting shall also be discussed.

Fundamentals of Business Analytics
This
course provides students with an overview of the current trends in business
analytics which drive today’s business. The course will provide an
understanding of data management techniques that can help an organization
achieve its business goals and address operational challenges.
Business Plan Preparation for BSE3B
This
course which will teach students to prepare a complete and effective Business
Plan that can be adapted to a business. Areas covered in the Business Plan
include business research process, idea generation, and implementation. The
course will also add elements of Social Entrepreneurship and its concepts. At the end of semester, the students should
be able to prepare a business plan covering the features of a feasibility study
and a business plan including marketing, operations, personnel and financial
plan. Requirements in manufacturing and services sectors will be
differentiated. A comprehensive marketing plan of a particular project shall be
expected as a major output required by the course.
