THE TEACHER AND THE COMMUNITY
THE TEACHER AND THE COMMUNITY, SCHOOL CULTURE AND ORGANIZATIONAL LEADERSHIP WITH FOCUS ON PHILIPPNE TVET SYSTEM
This course focuses on philosophical, technological, and socio-economic foundation of the technical vocational education and training (TVET) in the Philippines. It also covers the principles underlying competency-based training, competency standards, program registration, assessment and certification. Discussions will also focus on TVET as a component of the Philippine Qualifications Framework and the effect of globalization.

FACILITATING LEARNER-CENTERED TEACHING
1. PEPC01 – FACILITATING LEARNER-CENTERED TEACHING: THE LEARNER-CENTERED APPROACHES WITH EMPHASIS ON TRAINER’S METHODOLOGY I
This course explores the fundamental principles, processes and practices anchored on the educational philosophy of learner-centeredness. It covers the knowledge, skills, and attitudes in planning a training session which includes identifying learner’s requirements, preparing session plan, preparing instructional materials and organizing learning and teaching and assessment resources. It also deals with the competencies in delivering competency-based training session which covers preparing training session, conducting pre- assessment, facilitating training session, conducting competency assessment and reviewing delivery of training session.

PRINCIPLES AND METHODS OF TEACHING IN ACCOUNTING
This course
introduces accountants to a rewarding vocation of teaching. It focuses on
building a foundation for planning, teaching, assessment based on outcome-based
approach, it considers methods and approaches to teaching accounting, business
and allied courses.

The Contemporary World
This course introduces students to the
contemporary world by examining the multifaceted phenomenon of globalization.
Using the various disciplines of the social sciences, it examines the economic,
social, political, technological, and other transformations that have created
an increasing awareness of the interconnectedness of peoples and places around
the globe. To this end, the course provides an overview of the various debates
in global governance, development, and sustainability. Beyond exposing the
student to the world outside the Philippines, it seeks to inculcate a sense of
global citizenship and global ethical responsibility.

TEACHING COMMON COMPTENCIES IN AFA
This course is
designed to enhance the knowledge and skills and attitudes of a student on Agri-Fishery
Arts competencies such as a) use fishery
equipment and facilitate according to
their functions; b) read instructional manuals on farm tools and equipment;; c)
perform preventive maintenance; and d) follow
aquaculture procedures in cleaning tools, equipment and facilities after use..

Elementary Statistics
Descriptive and inferential statistics including measures of central tendency and dispersion, confidence intervals, and hypothesis testing.

SMJL Contemporary World
Globalization and its impact on individuals, societies and communities. The course aims
to introduce students to the state of the world today and the new global order. The course will
focus on contemporary global condition from a Filipino perspective primarily and also as a
member of the global community, through a combination of readings, class discussions, writing
and group presentations, the students are expected to formulate an understanding of globalization
that is theoretically informed and rooted in the experiences of communities and nations.

Physical Education 4 - Recreational Activities for College Students
This course provides the students with sound, basic knowledge and understanding of how to attain a healthful level of physical fitness. The course allows the students to develop a lifetime fitness program. This course, recreational activities are associated with outdoor, survival instinct, orienteering, and positive relationship with natural environments. This course is designed to help students develop self-awareness and responsibility for their own health-related fitness.

Filipino sa Iba't ibang Disiplina
Ang FILDIS ay isang praktikal na kursong nagpapalawak at nagpapalalim sa kasanayan sa malalim at mapanuring pagbasa, pagsulat, at pananaliksik sa wikang Filipino sa iba’t ibang larangan, sa konteksto ng kontemporaryong sitwasyon at mga pangangailangan ng bansa at ng mga mamamayang Pilipino.
Nakatuon ang kursong ito sa makrokasanayang pagbasa at pagsulat, gamit ang mga makabuluhang pa nanaliksik sa wikang Filipino, bilang lunsaran ng pagsasagawa ng pananaliksik (mula sa pangangalap ng datos at pagsulat ng borador ng pananal iksik hanggang sa publikasyon at/o presentasyon nito) na nakaugat sa mga suliranin at realidad ng mga komunidad ng mga mamamayan sa bansa at maging sa komunidad ng mga Pilipino sa iba pang bansa.
Saklaw rin ng kursong ito ang paglinang sa kasanayang pagsasalita, partikular sa presentasyon ng pananaliksik sa iba’t ibang porma at venue.
Art Appreciation

Art Appreciation, GS ENRIQUEZ
Throughout the history, Europe has seen
tremendous changes in its political landscape and social makeup, and witnessed
transitions of different art movements on different time frames. The use of art
as a medium of communication of different cultural elements originated from the
Greek and Roman Civilizations. These two Civilizations have greatly influenced
the succeeding periods in art history. There were movements like realism that
highlights the primacy of individuality. Man being the focal point of most work
is not new since the Greeks and even during the Renaissance Period Highlighted
the centrality of man in any society. The evolution of art in Europe helped
them shaped their culture, which was reflected in their societies.

SMNJ Purposive Communication
Purposive Communication is a three-unit course
that develops students’ communicative competence and enhances their cultural
and intercultural awareness through multimodal tasks that provide them
opportunities for communicating effectively and appropriately to a
multicultural audience in a local or global context. It equips students with
tools for critical evaluation of a variety of texts and focuses on the power of
language and the impact of images to emphasize the importance of conveying
messages responsibly. The knowledge, skills, and insights that students gain
from this course may be used in their other academic endeavors, their chosen
disciplines, and their future careers as they compose and produce relevant
oral, written, audio-visual and/or web-based output for various purposes.
